The Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback, Inc. (http://www.aapb.org) defines biofeedback as: “the process of gaining greater awareness of many physiological functions primarily using instruments that provide information on those same systems, with a goal of being able to manipulate them at will.” In their website it is further stated that: “Biofeedback is a process that enables an individual to learn how to change physiological activity for the purposes of improving health and performance”.
